Privacy & cookies
Last updated: 19 October 2026. This is a plain-English starting policy for a small UK site and should be reviewed before launch.
Who we are
The Handy Finds UK (the “site”) is run by James Mackie in the United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect on this site
- No accounts, no comments, no forms that collect data. The newsletter box is a placeholder and does not collect anything yet.
- No analytics or advertising cookies are set by this site at launch. If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, we will update this page first and, where consent is legally required, ask for it before setting any non-essential cookie.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may keep short-term technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are processed under our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Affiliate links and Amazon cookies
When you click an affiliate link to Amazon.co.uk, you leave this site. Amazon may set cookies on your device so it can attribute any purchase to us and pay a commission. Those cookies are controlled by Amazon and covered by Amazon’s Privacy Notice and Cookies Notice. We receive reports of orders and earnings, not your personal details.
Email newsletter (when it launches)
If you sign up, we will hold your email address with our email provider to send the newsletter you asked for. We will use double opt-in, include an unsubscribe link in every email and never sell your details. Lawful basis: your consent.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Email us at the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We will update this page if anything changes, for example if we add analytics or launch the newsletter.
